Travel N Fun with 1181 article for April 2008 Reminder
BREAKING NEWS: Due to a scheduling conflict, 1181’s April (23-27) outing will move from the Port Townsend Elks to Bayshore RV Park in Tokeland (directly across from the historical Tokeland Hotel. Bayshore is a beautiful park with beach access. There is a fire pit, so bring wood. Your hosts for the outing will be the Bellings, Lillibridges and Fallehys. They have a full weekend planned.
The May outing will the 14th to 17th at Harmony Lakeside RV Park at Mossyrock. To get to the park take State H-12 to the blinking light at Mossyrock, turn left. The park is 2 ½ miles for the H-12. This is a no-host outing.
The March camp was held at the home park the 13th through 16th. Dick and Stella Davis and Lorene Brannan. Wednesday a wood-cutting was planned. We will report on injuries in the next issue. Dinner by the hosts and card bingo was also planned. The winners will be announced next month. (And in keeping with tradition, there is a cool double-sided jig-saw puzzle in the shelter.)
During new business at the February meeting, a proposal was made to change the start time of our monthly meeting from 7:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A motion to make the change will be made at the May 12th meeting, giving all members interested a chance to attend the meeting and vote.
The next meeting will be April 14. Greet at 6 (or earlier), meet at 7.
By now, you might have tumbled to the fact that this column is not from your regular editor, Sherie Lewis. She is out of town, and instead this newsletter has been penned by Gary Blankenship. The Harmony Park has a $28 first night deposit requirement 45 days in advance. Please call Gary Blankenship at 360-373-6416 (Garydawg@msn.com) to sign up and provide him with the deposit (checks made out to Travel N Fun 1181). He will be at the March outing to collect. The deadline will be March 25.
