TRAVEL 'N FUN REMINDER

February Travel N Fun column

Our condolences to Bill and the family and friends of Juanita Spong.
Eight rigs joined the New York New Year’s celebration at Port Townsend lodge 317.  The revelers dined on chicken cordon blue and salmon, danced and partied until the apple dropped in Manhattan.  Gary Blankenship won the door prize and Stephanie Schmittler was judged best dressed. 
Thanks Lodge 317 members for a wonderful evening.

The Valentine Brunch (hosted by Bea Sande, Stella Davis, Loretta Rott and Lorene Brannan) will be at the Airport Dinner February 12th at 9 am.  The price is $9.25 for seniors and $13.25 for others.

The March outing will be the 21st to 25th at the Home Park.  Our hosts will be the Higdon/Grassers and Blankenships.  Details are still be finalized.  April 18the to 22nd, we will return to the Port Townsend Elks for an outing hosted by the Bellings, Fallehys and Harmons.  We have hosts for the May 16-20 at North Whidbey RV Park at Oak Harbor:  Lillybridge, Myers and Gertch.

We need hosts for 3 camping outings:  June 27-July 1- NW Elks RV Rally, Hood River Fairgrounds, Odell OR; July18-22 - Bayshore RV Resort, Tokeland; September 19-23– Icicle RV Resort, Leavenworth

MapQuest records the mileage from our house:  The Whidbey park at 148 traveling I5N.  There are cabins at the park and both a mini and full golf course within walking distance.  Odell OR 238 miles via the Gorge.  Tokeland 120 miles (and the Westport Winery 95).  Prosser (which has hosts) 220 miles. Leavenworth 146 miles via I405 and US2 and 186 via I90.)  All parks have an informative web site.

The February meeting is Monday the 13th at the lodge.  Meet at five (or earlier), the general meeting at 7.   There will be a second meeting and vote on bylaw changes at this meeting.  The primary changes are allow a president to serve for four consecutive terms vice two and to remove dues amounts from the bylaws.

The rosters are being revised and should be issued in the spring.  Anyone with a new address, phone number, email address, etc.  Please contact Sherie Lewis at 360-692-6505 with your correct information.

Travel guides for all regions of the country – West, Central, Northeast and South – are available for purchase at the Lodge front desk. 

Stephanie has some flags for sale.
