TRAVEL 'N FUN REMINDER

May 2011 Travel N Fun Column

March we enjoyed an outing at the Home Park though we still were in the ever-so long 2011 winter monsoon  (The morning of this writing, there was snow in Everett and north.  Sigh.)  Campers enjoyed spaghetti and salad provided by hosts Chris Blankenship and Cathy Higdon on Friday, potluck or the Lodge’s crab feed on Saturday, and pancakes and sausage cooked by Dan Grasser and Gary Blankenship on Sunday morning.

We played a new washer game provided by Halls.  First place winners were Dale Harmon and Gary Blankenship, mostly the former.  Several ladies decorated plates with floral decoupage.  Special thanks to Brenda and Dave Lott, Barb Fallehy, and Juanita Spong for their impromptu scrapbooking and other demonstrations.

May 11-15., we will be at Land Yacht Harbor at Lacey hosted by Kathy Josephson and the Harpers.  The outing will include several working session for NW Elk’s RV Rally preparations and trips around the area to finalize Rally Plans.   We will have a rare Thursday host provided dinner of baked potatoes.  The taters will be provided, but bring a filling of your choice to share.

Friday’s activities include a craft session on etching wine glasses  There is a $3.00 fee for the classes, a taco dinner provided by the hosts, and a jelly-belly contest.  Saturday will include a French toast and ham breakfast, crafts to make placemats and coasters ($3.00 fee), a lemon chicken dinner provided by the hosts, and kazoo competition

There will be a Celebration of Life for Sam Josephson at the Shelter on May 7th from 1 to 4 pm.

Hosts for the June 22nd to 26th outing at Glen Ayr in Hoodsport are the Bellings and Fallehys.  If you wish to hotel, Glen Ayr’s rooms are very nice.
