TRAVEL N FUN COLUMN FOR NOVEMBER

September 22 to 26 found Travel N Fun at Toppenish and the Yakama Nation RV
Park.  With nearly perfect weather, campers spent four days gathered between
the Lewis and Gould rigs for what seemed like one continuous buffet and
bocce, jigsaw puzzles, and after dark, a campfire.  Friday evening, the gang
played several rounds of Left/Right/Center.  We did not get the names of all
the winners, but do know that two couples walked away with both pots:  The
Goulds and Blankenships.

Saturday morning, the "Biscuit Girls" (and a couple of guys) served biscuits
with country gravy and fruit.  In the evening, the campers moved to the
casino for a nearly free buffet - depending, of course, on what else
happened while there.

Thanks to the hosts - Darrell and Stephanie Schmittlier, Sam and Kathy
Josephson and Ken and Nancy Gould for a great outing.

October 21 to 24, the club traveled to Rest-a-While on the shores of Hood
Canal for the annual Officer's Outing and oysters, catered dinner, card
bingo, horse races (and a bass?).  We will publish the winners in the next
issue.

November's dinner meeting will return to the Sons of Norway on the 8th.
Bill and Darlene Green and Darwin and Delores Hedin will be our hosts.
Dinner is $14.50 person.  Happy hour starts at 5 pm, dinner at 6 and the
meeting at 7.  To reserve dinner, call the hosts.

December 10th, the Petersons, Sandes and Joyce Cordova will host the annual
Christmas dinner at the Lodge.  They are still planning the menu, so watch
this space for details. For reservations, phone any of the hosts.  There is
no general meeting in December.

It is not too early to volunteer for a 2005 outing, starting with February's
Valentine Brunch.  If you are interested in hosting, call Chris at 373-6416.

SUNSHINE reported on Lou Turner, Wavil Willhite, Morris Churchman, and
Maxine Grevstad.  Phone the Sunshine Chair, Cindy Varsafsky, at 376-5841 if
you have any Sunshine information.

President Sherie Lewis has several committee chairs to fill for 2005:
Hamburgers, historian, Sunshine, badges and patches, lodge membership and
raffle sales.  To chair, call Sherie at 692-6505.

Remember, the club is only as good as its volunteer workers.

Darrell has agreed to build a swing set for the 2005 raffle.

At the October general meeting, we found out that Dick Miller is a champion
corn-shucker.

The next meeting:  Monday, January 10 at the lodge.

Snow birds, drive carefully; and please keep us informed of events in the
southland.
